Kathleen Kerr is an award-winning graduate of George Brown College’s Jewellery Arts program. Kathleen started her post-secondary education in Interior Design, completing her diploma with honours at Toronto’s Humber College. Craving a more focused and hands-on approach to bringing design to life led her to the George Brown Jewellery program where she finally found her passion, training as a goldsmith. After graduation, Kathleen received advanced level training in Matrix CAD/CAM, a leading 3D jewellery design software system, which allows her to use her love of precision and problem-solving in the construction of both simple and complex designs alike. She has also received additional training in gem-setting which helped her to improve her 3D model making skills to accommodate more complex setting styles. Kathleen has almost a decade of experience in designing custom and one-of-a-kind luxury jewellery. She believes jewellery should be functional as well as beautiful, and always keeps this in mind when designing, whether it’s a simple solitaire or a large pave set floral design. Kathleen is delighted to be a part of the FTJCo team, where excellent craftsmanship and a small business mindset meet with ethical and eco-friendly materials sourcing.
