I led a group of lawyers and legally related professionals, covering a full range of commercial law services involving advice, negotiation and drafting contracts in areas including, UK and international collaborative agreements, contracts with and on behalf of University subsidiary companies, purchase and supplier agreements, and consultancy and research agreements. We were also responsible for the following areas: Data Protection and Freedom of Information; Charity law and Regulatory law in Education. I was also responsible for the full range of company secretarial services for and on behalf of all University subsidiary companies, as well advising these companies more generally on legal issues. Our companies ranged from property management to a mid size bus company to electric charger installations. In relation to the litigation areas I advised on final stages in staff and student disciplinary matters and acted as the main point of contact for all litigation for the University.
