Being an Operations Manager focused on Accounts is exactly what you’d think it’s like. From process improvements to CRM software, I’m the colleague at work that everyone goes to if you want to get something done! Luckily, I’m obsessed with staying organized and making sure everyone's doing their job ethically and effectively.My journey started at a small consulting company, Full Suite, where I documented manuals on incorporation services. The experience introduced me to the growing startup scene in the Philippines, and within a year I joined a media startup where I expanded my network of founders and social entrepreneurs. This experience ignited my passion for operations, leading me to join the corporate world where I could make a larger impact.At Unilab, I managed a Php5-million (USD90k) grant for a roving health science exhibition. I oversaw the production process and developed post-exhibition programs that reached more than 52,000 Filipino students and teachers nationwide. I also launched a social enterprise marketplace within the Foundation which sparked a curious dream: was there a Foundation that supports the growth of social enterprises?I joined AirAsia in 2017 when the Foundation just opened a social enterprise kiosk at the KL International Airport. Aside from managing the grants, I was responsible for over 1000 SKUs of handicrafts, gift items and lifestyle products from all over ASEAN. By 2019, the online retail store was launched alongside the 2nd pop-up shop in downtown KL. This pivot from a 100% grantmaking organization to online/offline marketplace proved to be an effective way to maintain Foundation operations during the pandemic.When I'm not immersed in project management, you'll find me freelancing for community blogs or volunteering for women and youth. I believe in striving for a meaningful life and these activities help me recharge my creativity, ultimately making me a better leader at work.I came to Hong Kong in 2020 to pursue my Masters at HKU, studying topics like gender, labour, migration, and creative cities. It was a culmination of 7 years in corporate.
