Kathleen Marcus is the Co-Chair of the firm's Enforcement Defense & Investigations practice group and Chair of the firm’s Compliance and Corporate Governance practice group. Formerly with the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, Ms. Marcus’ practice emphasizes government and regulatory enforcement defense, internal investigations and compliance counseling. Ms. Marcus manages inquiries and investigations before the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), FINRA, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Enforcement Bureau and the Office of Inspector General of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and matters involving the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Ms. Marcus also defends matters before the criminal and civil divisions of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ); including whistleblower and False Claims Act qui tam suits. In addition, Ms. Marcus counsels companies and funds on corporate governance and compliance matters, including regulatory compliance issues impacting clients in the healthcare space. She conducts compliance assessments, authors compliance policies, and provides compliance training.
