I defend insured professionals - primarily healthcare, financial, and hospitality industry - when they face lawsuits or claims. I help doctors in a wide variety of specialties, nurses, behavioral health facilities, hospitals, hospice workers, chiropractors, clinical laboratories, long term care and residential facilities, broker-dealers, registered representatives, restaurants, and a variety of other businesses understand and respond to claims against them, bring them to resolution, and defend them to trial whenever necessary. I spend my time litigating in state and federal courts, as well as before FINRA and the EEOC.

Presided over involuntary termination and discharge administrative hearings involving nursing homes and residents throughout the Chicagoland area.

Licensed to represent clients under Supreme Court Rule 711. Defended indigent clients against felony criminal charges. Prevailed in a felony jury trial. Appeared on the record for arraignments, pleas, conferences, motion hearings, and violation of probation hearings. Assisted at WINGS court call (probationary call that provides gender-sensitive services to female offenders).

Member of Loyola Chicago's competitive national mock trial team. Received hundreds of hours of individual, intensive training in criminal and civil litigation from Chicago practitioners. 2009 semi-finalist at NACDL's Cathy Bennett National Criminal Trial Competition; 2010 Regional Champion at the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition.

Research and writing on a wide variety of issues arising in civil insurance defense litigation.

Research and writing in chambers in federal civil litigation, on issues such as civil rights, ERISA, federal communications and wiretap statutes, and Illinois contract law.

Family law, including custody, guardianship, divorce, parentage, child support, and domestic violence/orders of protection. Researched and wrote pleadings, motions, memoranda, and orders; prepared witnesses and litigants for hearings; attended court proceedings.

Research and analysis on public policy issues for floor debates and publications; office management.
