Director Of Risk ManagementMvp Staffing Jan 2017 - Mar 2019Greater Chicago AreaAs a member of the MVP Executive Team, Kathleen is tasked with assessing the occupational liabilities incumbent in a staffing business model. She is developing loss reduction and loss prevention programs. She is also implementing effective and concise early intervention programs aimed at the reduction of the claim costs to support MVP’s growth model, increase sales and maximize profit.Multiple programs aimed at cost containment and improved claim outcomes were created and implemented. A partnership with partnership with ReEmployability was introduced. ReEmployability’s Transition2Work® program matches injured employees with temporary light duty assignments at not-for-profit entities when the host employer is unable to accommodate light duty onsite. Participation in the program has been shown to improve employees’ sense of value and self-esteem while keeping them in the workforce until they are released medically to safely return to full duty. An early medical mangement program was created with Genex to pair with ReEmployAbility’s light duty return-to-work (LD RTW) program. Based on the results to date, MVP is seeing referrals into the LD RTW program being made at earlier opportunities. Combining the TCM and LD RTW program allows the injured employee to return to work in ANY capacity. This approach has significantly impacted the claim duration as well as the average claim cost on closed claims. Kathleen is futher focusing Risk Management efforts on safety programs to improve overall loss prevention to reduce the number of losses bineg incurred. By using a multi-pronged approach to MVP’s high claims costs, Kathleen has ensured that each layer of MVP’s workers’ compensation program builds off the other and works in sync to support MVP’s associate employees, leadership, stakeholders, and MVP’s bottom line. -
