* What I enjoy - Combining my experience as a Content Manager, Technical Writer, Librarian, Historian, and impatient user to produce efficient knowledge products and services. These products and services have included content maps, style guide checklists, library collections, and deployment databases for military commanders. My latest knowledge products include streamlined troubleshooters to help hardware support agents help customers - as efficiently and painlessly as possible. * Talents - Distilling and presenting the complex into the understandable, the findable, and the inviting. This includes organization of information, technical writing, online Help, subject indexing, resource and collection development, content mapping, information architecture and content simplification ("less is more", but the right "less"). I also mentor content wisdom and teach other content providers, not just how to fish, but how fish think.* Most unusual information organization challenge so far? Organizing a reference library for the 129th Air Sea Rescue Pararescue Unit US Air National Guard. The trick was to organize and integrate multiple resources (maps, research on the treatment of trauma, videos on rescue techniques, and other secret stuff I cannot disclose)as a mission planning tool. I believe in seeing the information challenge from the user's perspective, so I accompanied the troops on a few training missions, volunteered to be a trauma victim, and parachuted out of a perfectly good airplane.
