As a Peace Corps volunteer in the Community Business Sector I worked with NGO's to help find solutions for economic or social growth. Two of the major projects are listed below.1) Lori Regional Library-Vanadzor. Regional Library in Lori MarzApplied for and won a highly competitive fully funded $15,000 EIFL/PLIP grant for a Health Resource Center at the library. http://healthbridge.do.am/-Creation of logo and mission statement HEALTH BRIDGE “Connecting the community with health information to a improve quality of life”.-Oversaw and analyzed the grant budget for effectiveness or not.-Initiated an Art project/competition for the children of the community which purpose was one of the events to spotlight how effective the EIFL/PLIP grant was. The theme of the art contest was “healthy Lifestyles” and children from the community submitted art pictures for judging. The event was covered by Armenian TV and radio and received wide community participation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81KLd-eZkR4-Attended an international conference in Slovenia to present the project to the grant donors.2) Helsinki Citizens Assembly-Vanadzor - Advocate for Human Rights in Armenia-Major Project: Taron IV Park–Grassroots collaborative design project initiative co-coordinating, citizens’ local governmental agencies, international architects, AUA professors, human rights NGOs and volunteer groups from Vanadzor and Yerevan.
