As a bilingual educator, I am passionate about the development of student achievement at the college level. My background provides numerous examples of how I volunteered in Portland, Oregon and Tucson, Arizona helping adult Spanish-speaking immigrants learn English in order to find better employment. I believe that life-long learning does not end with the achievement of a degree. Effective leadership requires building and maintaining cooperative working relationships within diverse multicultural groups. As a professional, I realize how crucial it is to keep current with technology and best practices in order to properly assess and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
