At Noblis, I provide our federal clients with consultation services related to sustainability and chemical and material risk management. I specialize as a life cycle analyst; assessing environmental impacts of various products and services throughout its complete life cycle. For this role, I utilize client and public data to help inform decision making in developing projects. I also help to update and build out existing life cycle models. For the Chemical and Material Risk Program, I provide expertise in chemical alternatives analysis to avoid regrettable substitution. I provide the client with both scientific research and regulatory analysis on emerging chemical, sustainability and supply chain issues.In addition to life cycle analysis, I help Noblis corporate with its yearly CDP disclosure.

Consulted with RIVIAN to develop a water footprint for battery materials used in electric vehicles. Created a water risk management strategy to minimize local land impacts during the sourcing of battery materials.

Created an excel model, which tracked climate lobbying and advocacy among ~350 of the largest US-based corporations. Compiled and analyzed data to determine the sectors with leaders and laggards in climate advocacy, provided suggestions for how EDF can collaborate to improve these data metrics in the future. Tracked locations of top fortune 500 based companies to understand where to focus advocacy efforts. Tracked top corporations’ comments on legislative proposals (IRA, SEC, Clean Trucks). Updated company website to feature latest news related to climate lobbying.

Developed an SDG contribution map for TemperPack, a temperature controlled, sustainable packaging business. In a team of 3, we used both the SDG indicators and the SDG Action Manager Tool, to determine key SDG focus areas. We selected 8 out of the 17 SDGs for TemperPack to focus on, and provided the firm with actionable recommendations to improve their performance. As client lead, I maintained strong communication with the clients on deliverable progress and research results. I kept the group organized and on-track and led all group meetings. In the end, we produced a 15-page memo and presented to the class and our clients.

Tested for changes to expression levels of carbonic anhydrase 15-a, a critical metalloenzyme involved in osmoregulation. Research included: primer design, animal care, environmental manipulation, isolation of genetic material, PCR, quantitative PCR and data analysis. Presented research in a paper and oral defense.

Worked with Dr. Dean Fraga of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department on a senior undergraduate’s research project. Project focused on the study of molecular evolution using the model system, phosphagen kinase, and the characterization of two arginine kinase genes within the model organism, Caenorhabditis elegans. Research included: primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis and analysis, PCR purification, restriction digest, plasmid preparation, C. elegans care and behavioral analysis.
