I have a PhD in cell/molecular and microbiology and am an entrepreneur. My research interests are with microorganisms specifically microbial communities (biofilms) and the human microbiome, with a special interest in the skin microbiome. During my graduate work I leveraged my background in microbiology and skincare with my start-up probiotic skincare company microBELLA Cosmetics Inc. I became active in entrepreneurship at Binghamton University and took part in the NSF I-Corps Teams Program. These opportunities have informed my professional goals. My interests are in technology commercialization informed by Lean StartUp and I-Corps methodology. I enjoy instructing and aiding academic researchers through customer discovery, product-market fit, and the business model canvas with their translational research technologies. I am especially interested in the commercialization of personal care products informed by microbiome and microbial research.
