Profile bio

About Kathryn Dickason, Ph.D.

I am a published author with fifteen years of experience in academic scholarship, journalism, editing, and university public relations. I have given dozens of conference presentations and guest lectures nationally and internationally. My passion for writing ignited early in my academic journey. In my scholarship and teaching, I strove to make history sparkle and to help students view their world in new ways. I publish scholarly research regularly in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, and I also have published a book with Oxford University Press. Because I also wanted to reach a broader public, I began writing on various platforms: journalistic articles, website content, newsletters, and promotional work. Today, I write about university news, art, culture, and religion. With accessible prose, I want to help readers understand the complexities, conflicts, values, and beauty of our world. My writing• showcases institutional, artistic, and cultural achievements, • celebrates the impact visionary individuals and organizations have on our culture, • illuminates obscure history, and • tells the stories of the marginalized who live among us. I would love to tell your story too. You can reach me at: dickason@alumni.stanford.edu
