Clinical supervision will include a minimum of 100 hours, with no more than 50 group hours, to meet licensure standards and will include discussions on ethics, case review, exam preparation, real life scenarios, self care, job readiness, and theory application.Provide consultation to schools and other agencies who have mental health and/or student wellness services. Mindful Space also provides mental health resource management services. These services help mental health service providers navigate local, state, and federal policies as well as help to identify local strengths and resources using a trauma-informed model.Provide best practice trainings to community agencies on mental health and suicide prevention using Youth Mental Health First Aid, LivingWorks ASIST and safeTALK, and other resources.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

ASIST-trained caregiver is designed for anyone over the age of 16. ASIST is the world’s leading suicide intervention workshop. During the two-day interactive session, participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Over 1,000,000 people have taken the workshop, and studies have proven that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings for those at risk. safeTALK is a half-day alertness training that prepares anyone over the age of 15, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives.
