In this role I contact insurance payers to determine patients eligibility and assigning correct payer order for billing purposes. I am responsible for calculating estimated financial contribution for each patient, informing patients of those amounts due on date of service and establishing payment arrangements if needed.

I was responsible for verifying patient insurance benefit information, reviewing patient notes for charges, entering ICD-9 and CPT codes for electronic billing submission, submitting Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, personal injury and workers comp claims, sending account statements to patients, and entering payment information into patient accounts. I also assist with credentialing and medical records related issues as needed.

I was responsible for accurate scheduling of patients receiving chemotherapy and other biogenetic drugs. I greeted patients and family members, collected payments from patients, prepared daily routing slips and patient identification bands, assisted nursing staff as needed by processing mail, performing general office duties, and scheduling meetings and CEU opportunities with pharmaceutical representatives and other physicians.

I met with patients to discuss their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities. I submitted claims to insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid. It was also my responsibility to submit provider credentialing verification when setting up contracts with new insurance carriers.

As a State of Ohio Certified Driving Instructor, I counseled and educated perspective teen and adult drivers in general traffic safety knowledge and skills, in both the classroom and behind-the-wheel settings.

I trained the incoming Project Director for the Wayne and Holmes County Safe Communities Coalitions to submit online grant reports, develop community traffic safety programs, and facilitate monthly meetings.

As coordinator, I taught car seat classes to expectant and new parents and provided general traffic safety information to local community outreach programs, ensuring that local parents were installing, maintaining, and operating their children's car seats correctly. As the Program Assistant for Holmes and Wayne County Safe Communities Safe Communities Program Assistant I collaborated with local law enforcement and health care agencies to improve driving safety practices, which were based upon eye-witnessing local drivers' driving habits in a field study of seat belt usage, and worked with media outlets to increase awareness of local traffic safety concerns, including teen driving, motorcycle safety and sharing the road with our Amish neighbors.

Marketing to local corporate offices, I acquired new accounts for the fitness center and educated human resource departments on the benefits of wellness programs. I also maintained the appointment schedule for two chiropractors; answered incoming calls to the practice and fitness center; and greeted clients, providing them with privacy rights information and tours of the facilities and processed payments on their accounts.
