I specifically researched a southern Maryland family's use of slave labor and transition to labor on the commodity market, as well as their transition into a consumer capitalist economy. My own research worked with primary source documents to examine the differences of early consumer capitalism in Northern and Southern States following the Civil War.

As a summer intern I aided the head archivist with the preservation of LAUSD's collection of ancient artifacts as well as its collection of school publications and memorabilia. I organized and prepared a database of individual school publications such as newspapers and yearbooks and wrote text to accompany pieces on display in the archival museum.
