I love to serve. When I see I have helped someone else or made an impact in their lives I feel successful. It’s important to me to know I am making a difference where I am. I have yet to find a career path that will give me a similar feeling of pure happiness through my work. That said I love to work with and for people. My longest career thus far was in medical reception and records. While simple, it gave me the opportunity to constantly serve others and help make my coworkers days a little easier. It also introduced me to the world of healthcare. I’m not sure I could ever pursue a career in medicine myself, but I am interested in the management side of medicine. One path I am looking into is medical and health services management. I have learned about record keeping and organization of medical information, while keeping HIPAA in mind, through my previous work. I have also had the opportunity to take classes and learn about Certified Child Life Specialists. I believe any career in the field of health services is gratifying. Throughout my education I have studied family life and child development. I’ve taken classes in human development, cross-cultural studies, and adaptation to name a few. If given the opportunity to carry out a career in this field, I would be interested in education or educational leadership. Being able to teach children (of any age) would give me the opportunity to nurture young minds and help them create a brighter future for themselves. Despite where I end up, I know I want to serve everyone I interact with through efficient and organized methods.
