Nepal

Rural development of a Nepalese community. Improving livelihood's and reducing poverty by supporting community members to set up income generating businesses e.g. high value crop growing and goat farming. Establishing children's, youth & woman groups, creating a safe space for learning and discussion around, sustainable agricultural practices, natural resource management, climate change, horticulture, family planning and food, nutrition and health. Working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Increasing my independence and self growth through solo travelling South East Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Widening my global knowledge base by submerging into differing cultures and ways of life. Developing budgeting and planning skills through managing personal expenses and devising travel routes. Strengthening communication skills by conversing with people from around the world, cultivating languages and using both verbal and non-verbal methods to communicate. Enhancing the ability to adapt to unanticipated situations.

Malton, North Yorkshire

Positioned as NPD Manager during my second Graduate Trainee Year. Working with a passionate team to develop artisan, handcrafted pastry products for retail. Specifically developing product ranges and managing customer relationships for the M&S Deli, Sainsbury's Deli Counter & Hot Food and FSC (Food Service Centre).

Cranswick Graduate Trainee Scheme (Fresh & Pastry Division) entailed a comprehensive induction to the business, including manufacturing processes and commercial business. The Graduate Scheme provided opportunities to gain essential business skills and hands-on experience across the company’s activities and is designed to progress graduates into senior management positions. The Scheme lasted for 24 months, during which a number of placements provided a broad base of experience across the Cranswick Fresh and Pastry Division's. Placements included NPD, Technical, Production and Sales & Marketing. Essential experience included time on farm and participation in butchery skills to enhance understanding and appreciation for the supply chain 'Farm to Fork'.

Living on campus, carrying out a supportive role as an approachable contact for first year students. Acting as a student ambassador and representative at University events.

Chatteris, Cambridgeshire

A year's work experience as part of my degree at Harper Adams. Technical Assistant (4 months) - assisting the Juice and Ice-cream department carrying out customer bench-marking, updating gap analysis, market research and building product specifications. Quality controller (1 month) - Working within a fast paced pack house environment over the Christmas period. Main roles included; half-hourly product line checks to ensure both product and packaging quality standards were being met. Skills were gained from shelf life and titration testing, alongside expanding product variety knowledge.Logistical and Procurement (4 months) - Supporting the Grape and Citrus teams. Tasks included; processing internal transfers between packhouses, using the computer system Rubicon, issuing stock transfers, producing market tickets, RTS’s and weekly DEFRA reports. Much time was spent liaising with hauliers to book and chase deliveries through the supply chain, to ensure quantity of fruit met customer requests.M&S Head Office (3 months) - M&S Fruit Franchise Project
