I am currently a GI fellow, interested in liver disease, AI, nutrition and the microbiome. I want to improve patient education and would like to develop an app or technology to allow patients to better understand their illnesses and more fully participate in their own care. I seek new innovative solutions for old problems, enjoy being creative, like working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and I am motivated to apply outside interests and skills to my practice of medicine. Earlier this year, I co-founded a primary care podcast through which I utilized my self-taught graphic design background to create medical infographics. I enjoy research and have a variety of peer reviewed publications, several book chapters, and abstracts. I also have participated in various volunteer and leadership roles; in particular, working at Open Mind Project in NongKai, Thailand stands out. I taught English to Thai students age 5-15, empowered young adults disadvantaged in SE Asia by creating independent lifelong learners by introducing the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in a changing world. I also taught preventative healthcare to people living in rural areas in SE Asia. Pathstone also stands out, where I participated in a transitional assistance program to help formerly-incarcerated people re-enter society, through job training, work incentives, and substance abuse/mental health treatment. In my free time, I love to travel, backpack, hike, ski, do hot yoga, find new vegan recipes, and dabble in photography.
