There is a requirement in the business to review and manage data governance and architecture across the group. Ensuring all projects and activity interacting with data do so correctly. This role involves me developing group wide reporting on project and change activity. The role is newly created and supports standardisation of project management tooling. The reports are used at all levels of the business. Key data relates to activity and financials. I manage 6 BI development specialists, and augment with contractors when required. Currently working with Microsoft BI stack. May 2011 - April 2014 Head of BIAs Head of the BI Team for GTIS COO I was responsible for providing reports for presentation to the Heads of GTIS and their SMT, whilst also producing reports and analysis for the business areas to successfully manage activity. The team was responsible for reporting from a range of data sets, including HR related data, operational performance data, finance data, risk data and time sheet management data. The BI team are also responsible for advising on the appropriate tool sets to be used for the production of business analysis and MI.The role required reorganisation to ensure the appropriate skill sets were available within the team. I directly managed a team of 7 DB specialists and analysts.In all work undertaken my teams apply full E2E project management methodologies. Ensuring requirements are gathered and met. In both roles I have removed manual reporting processes and streamlined reporting processes, centralising and utilising golden sources of data, improving reporting accuracy. The aim of this business was to provide business analysis support to other organisations through the analysis of current data. I offered market place and marketing analysis along with KPI development and ROI cost analysis. Within this role I was responsible for reporting against all research related activity, and for completing government returns based on Research data, including RAE and HEBCI.During my time at the University I lead the design, build and implement a new Research Management System. The system we built was akin to a project management system, and was developed in the Oracle development suite. The system directly linked the Universities HR system and Finance system, removing duplication of data store and management and ensuring golden data sources were used. The system had embedded project administration sections and a fully structured costing module, to provide accurate project costs. The system captured data required for reporting reducing heavily manually reporting processes. Implementation covered the training of academics across the university for using the system. This role had been specifically developed within a re-organisation of departments. During my time there, along with my induction I was gaining insight into the mechanisms of the company, prior to the new team being formalised that I was employed to work in. I worked specifically on a multiple regression model based on purchasing sensitivity, which influenced the marketing material by grouping ranges of products bought by similar consumer profiles.
