I work as part of a team to process orders for custom academic planners and other learning tools for K-12 schools throughout the US. I'm a liaison between the sales consultants (and their order forms) and the Oracle-based computer system. I use my communication skills, product knowledge, and personal integrity to ensure that customers get what they want as efficiently as possible. I was initially hired as temporary help for the busy summer season, but have been kept on and given the title and duties of the Southwest Regional Bin Owner.

I carried out various clerical duties (scanning, copying, Bates stamping, filing, redacting) and was occasionally the face of the office, assisting walk-ins and answering phones. I was trusted with a key to the office for days when I would be the only one there to open and/or close up. I indexed discovery for criminal cases (a lot of police reports and interview transcripts) and did internet research.

My focus was primarily estate planning--drafting Powers of Attorney, Simple Wills, Community Property Agreements, and Healthcare Directives. I also dabbled a little in Trusts and Limited Partnership Agreements.

I primarily did deli prep and salad bar prep. I sliced a lot of meat. One time I sliced a bucket full of hard-boiled bucket eggs. I swiped a lot of cards and handled a little cash, working as cashier about one day a week. I also worked as the "dish scrambler," scrambling to take the clean dishes back to the kitchen or out to the clamoring hordes in the dining area. Only once did I drop a stack of glasses. I was told by the student manager at the time that I was the most hard-working scrambler she'd seen; this made me feel good, since I hated that job initially yet was determined to see it through.
