As acting co-Principal Lawyer and Manager of the Property and Construction Law Unit of the DET Legal Division, I:- acted as first point of contact for DET internal and external stakeholders including executives, panel law-firms, state and local government departments, commercial entities, authorities and schools- balanced time, cost, quality and stakeholder demands to ensure high quality outcomes for the Department and dealt with matters that could be addressed promptly- advised Ministers and executives on cabinet submissions, correspondence and briefs- provided strategic input to the Victorian School Building Authority on its projects and procurement practices and liaised with external law panel firms and industry experts for specialist advice

As a Senior Lawyer in the Property and Construction Law Unit of DET's Legal Division, I supported the Victorian School Building Authority to implement the State Government’s investment of $6.1billion in education infrastructure by:- working with project officers and executives to deliver new schools as well as upgrades and refurbishments to existing schools- advising on and developing good procurement practice, which included drafting contracts and other commercial documents, preparing briefs for Accountable Officers and Ministers and running legal training sessions within the VSBA- pursuing rectification of defects and settling disputes with consultants and contractors- ensuring compliance with and advising on the application of relevant regulatory and legislative frameworks including DTF requirements, the Building Act 1993 (Vic), the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 (Vic) and various codes of conduct.

As a Lawyer in Maddocks' Construction and Projects team, I provided both transactional and ‘back end’ legal advice to state government departments, statutory authorities, local government, commercial builders, project managers and pro-bono clients. I also rotated through Maddocks' Planning & Environment, Commercial and Development teams as a Graduate.

As a secondee lawyer, I advised on a range of commercial issues, from large construction projects to IT procurement. I also worked on Parks Victoria’s precedent terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services.

I held the position of Director / Board Member of BottledSnail Productions Inc. BottledSnail Productions supports and produces high quality creative productions for Melbourne's legal industry. As a Director and Board Member of the inaugural committee of BottledSnail I was responsible, along with four other board members, for the artistic direction, fiscal management and growth of the company.
