I am currently responsible for negotiating the digital trade chapter of UK Free Trade Agreements with India and New Zealand where I ensure that UK policy on digital trade translates into a coherent and strong position for negotiations. I manage the development of digital platform trade policies, ensuring that the links and interdependencies between the UK’s domestic priorities, including those of other Government departments, and international trade are considered. I am also responsible for DCMS’s policy engagement for transitioning existing EU trade agreements into UK bilateral agreements, known as continuity agreements. In 2020, I successfully negotiated the Digital Chapter of the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement; the UK's first trade agreement since leaving the EU.
