Borough Care Limited is a not-for-profit organisation providing Care Homes and a range of health and social care services for older people.The company was established in 1993 and operates 12 care homes and a range of complementary services throughout Stockport.

I commenced employment as Business Support Manager. In March 2011 I was appointed to the position of Regional Manager for the northern region of the IH Specialist Services division (Mental Health)

I had multi site responsibility for a range of residential senior care services in both England & Scotland for 27 individual sites. I was a member of the Senior Executive Board. I had profit and loss responsibility for a divisional budget, in excess of £32.5m, and for the day-to-day activities in the running of the division - including providing leadership and taking divisional responsibility for budget planning and divisional performance objective setting. I lead a team that comprised of 3 Regional Managers, Service Managers and other support service personnel.

I was originally employed as Hospital Manager for a 49 place Independent Hospital, registered to provide care and support for Adults with severe and enduring mental health problems – most of which are detained under the mental health act, including home office restrictions. I was responsible for a team of 115 staff, including a multi-disciplinary team – comprising of medical, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals. On sale of this business I transferred to manage a 24 place Medium Secure Unit in Salford, which is a fully contracted service and is a joint partnership arrangement with Greater Manchester West NHS Trust. As part of this I sat on the Joint Management Board for the service. I also provided area management support to a sister Independent Hospital in Yorkshire.

Community Integrated Care is a national provider of health and social care services. It is not-for-profit organisation and registered charity. My responsibilities included management of a portfolio of 10 business units across Cheshire and Liverpool. This also included contributing to and implementing organisational business strategy, financial performance, business/service development and contract/relationship management, maintaining standards of care and practice and compliance with regulatory body standards.

I joined the company as a Home Manager and was subsequently promoted to Regional General Manager having responsibility for a portfolio of business units. The responsibilities of this role were to ensure the operational and financial performance of the region, to ensure contractual compliance and to support unit managers maintaining high standards of care and practice and compliance with Healthcare Commission standards. Latterly I spent 18 months as Training and Development Manager.
