Lead innovation technologist for convenience solutions. Responsible for managing the launch of a new process within Dunbia and the launch of two new product ranges for Co-op and Sainsbury's. Role involved regular independent travel around UK and Ireland. Key responsibilities: ▪ Worked closely with development chef, retailer product developer and technologists to bring product brief from concept through to launch. ▪ Packaging and sous vide process development (kitchen and factory trials) ▪ Preparing samples and paperwork for Gates and presenting to customers. ▪ Trend spotting through attending food shows and market research

I worked in the Technical Department at Dunbia part time during my final year of University. This role involved ATP swabs, microbiological, allergen and meat species testing using ELSA and PCR and monitoring and analyzing results against company hygiene policies, BRC Standards and customer specifications.

A three week intensive Chinese language and culture course followed by a 5week internship at Chinese drinks company, Dr Drinks in Shanghai. During my internship I assisted with the launch and development of business opportunities in Europe and UAE for Dr Drinks’ new product, JUISIR. • Learnt how to adapt international campaigns to country specific factors• Developed marketing strategies across a range of media platforms• Planning, developing and implementing effective marketing communication campaigns• Proof reading and writing copy for all marketing collateral, including brochures, letters, emails, promotional video script and websites • Creation of marketing materials: social media accounts, promotional videos, media blurbs • Development of healthy and nutritious juices and herbal tea blends to suit a western market

I was selected as a candidate on the “InnovateHER” enterprise support programme run by Women in Business NI which focused on bringing female students together to development viable business ideas and business plans. At the end of the programme I pitched my business idea to a panel of experts and I was awarded the runner up prize for “Best Business Idea”.Key objectives:• Encourage and inspire female students to start their own business• Develop key transferable skills including presentation, negotiation, creative thinking, persuasion, problem solving, networking and communication. • Understand key areas in starting a business including business planning, marketing/ PR / market research, legal issues, finance and innovation.

Responsible for delivering two core projects. First core project was to prepare Sainsbury's Product Quality and Safety laboratory for UKAS accreditation under ISO 17025 and undergo a preliminary accreditation audit. This involved creating and implementing a quality management system, writing a quality manual, supporting technical policies and SOPs. For my second project I spent 6 months as a Product Technologist where I was responsible for delivering Sainsbury's Own Brand 2016 Christmas Biscuit range which consisted of 19 products, 6 of which were NPD across 6 suppliers. Key responsibilities and skills gained: ▪ Complete management of critical path times to ensure products met their commercial targets ▪ Supplier interaction and communication - building relationships with key stakeholders ▪ Driving complaint reduction projects ▪ Food safety approval and product quality sampling ▪ Site visits and audits ▪ Commercial awareness ▪ Technical knowledge of packaging and shelf life ▪ Presentation skills and ability to communicate more effectively with both internal an external colleagues ▪ New Product Development Relevant training and certifications obtained:• BRC Global Standards for Food Safety Issue 7 (2 day course) - Merit• CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing• Introduction to SEDEX• Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint training• Other internal training relating to site auditing, food safety, nutrition, labelling, print and colour, ethical trade and sustainability.
