Kathryn Meehan is a partner at Hicks Morley's Waterloo office. Kathryn graduated as the gold medallist from the LL.B program at the University of Western Ontario and subsequently obtained her LL.M from the University of Cambridge, England, where she attended on a full scholarship. Prior to joining Hicks Morley, Kathryn completed her Master's of Industrial Relations at Queen's University and subsequently worked and taught in the field of human resources. Kathryn also served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an officer in the Naval Reserves. Kathryn spent her articling year as a Clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. She currently practices in all areas of labour and employment law, advising a wide variety of public and private sector clients. She represents clients before the Courts and administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Human Rights Tribunal. She also works with clients to ensure best practices, delivers training and provides advice on a pro-active basis before it becomes necessary to exercise her advocacy skills.Kathryn is active in the local community and has been a part-time faculty member in the Human Resources Management programs at the University of Waterloo, Conestoga College and Fanshawe College. Kathryn is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Grand Valley HRPA Chapter, and a former member of the Appeals Committee of the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario (HRPAO) and is the former chair of the Grand Valley HRPA Employee Relations Peer Networking Group.
