ProfessorFanshawe College Jan 2016 - PresentFanshawe College, London, OnAs a Professor with Fanshawe College, I design and deliver curriculum to students enrolled in courses within the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business. Courses taught range from business documentation to Electronic Health Records to the fundamentals of creating and using databases. I provide context and best practices to concepts being taught, provide learning that reflects workplace realities. I work closely with community partners to prepare students within the Office Administration-Health Services program, for a four-week, unpaid, hosted, onsite field placement for students. I strive to build solid relationships with partners that provide long-term connections with potential student employers.Coordinated recorded demonstrations for key learning concepts within a procedures course, supporting concepts such as agendas, business meetings, and meeting minutes. This became a team building experience, as faculty participated as characters in the demonstrations.Currently developing a work-place simulation to support students that are unable to participate in on-site placement activities.I have been instrumental implementing and supporting industry standard software to multiple programs to support curriculum. -
Software Learning FacilitatorIstcl Jun 2013 - Mar 2015London, Ontario CanadaWith ISTCL - a company that delivers scalable business solutions to clients worldwide across many industries and sectors - I was a Software Learning Facilitator fulfilling a software rollout for the Ministry of Community and Social Services - Social Assistance and Municipal Operation Branch. This role facilitated 2,000+ employees in learning new software modules virtually (via WebEx) throughout Ontario. Also included was the preparation of learning materials for the team of Learning Facilitators and development of J-I-T video-based learning modules. From January 2014 to April 2014, this was an intensive contract involving the delivery of two - 3.5 hour modules daily and corresponding administration, 5 days per week. From May 2014 to August 2014, I had the additional role of Interim Training Team Lead, including communications, resource scheduling and reporting to upper management, while staying within budget. From September 2014 to March 2015, I on-boarded a new trainer, a new Team Lead and trained the next delivery of content. Due to the demands of the content delivery and my experience with all the types of users, as a resource I was more valuable in the Facilitator role. I continued to support the new Team Lead. I was selected to prepare documentation specifically for Managers. This involved conducting a needs analysis, liaising with Subject Matter Experts and End User Managers to target the documentation.This contract capitalized on my ability to be flexible and responsive in a very dynamic environment.
