About Kathryn S.
Therapy provides the opportunity to thoughtfully look at experiences that have influenced and shaped us over our lifetime. Our past experiences affect the way we currently create new relationships with others. Through therapy, we can safely work through unresolved conflicts or traumas that are currently causing you stress. As we unpack what naturally emerges in any given moment during a session, we can widen the lens through which we construct our world views. With a widening lens, we will gain a better awareness of our emotions, behaviors, relationships, and choices.I work relationally, and I encourage my clients to become their own experts. A framework of Gestalt therapy, which is based on a here-and-now experience will help us integrate all the parts of our existence. A collaborative environment relieves the pressure we often feel when trying to bear the burden of loss, depression, or anxieties on our own. Human contact through dialogue and tending to the therapeutic relationship can create a sustainable natural growth pattern.I reject the idea that sustainable change can be made overnight, but through the implementation of Brainspotting therapies, a brain-body and somatically oriented approach might provide some early and long-lasting relief. It would dishonor a person's intimate struggle to claim an easy fix, but I have been blown away by the impact Brainspotting has had for my personal healing that the healing of my clients. Long-term therapy, in combination with Brainspotting treatment, provides space to find peace with past traumas, weigh current circumstances thoughtfully, and move towards positive growth while discovering new delight.
