In this Acting role, I lead the Year 9-10 English teaching team, overseeing the construction and management of academic assessment policies and work programs to align and ensure compliance with syllabus requirements. Additionally, I actively participate in reflective processes, offering advice, support, and leadership as required, and contribute to the induction of new staff members when necessary.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work as both an English and English & Literature Extension teacher at Girls Grammar. I am particularly committed to extending and refining my classroom practice as a part of the school-wide focus on Cultures of Thinking.

I am responsible for organising, staffing, and managing a wide range of co-curricular activities that cater to the diverse interests and skill levels of our students. I work closely with the Deputy Principal (Co-Curriculum) and the Director of Service to align our co-curricular offerings with the school's educational goals and values, and to tailor these experiences to meet the needs of our diverse and passionate cohorts of students.

As Director of Service (Acting), I was responsible for the implementation and review of new and extant Service initiatives across the School in the co-curricular space, in addition to organising and finalising the Year 10 Service program. This position was for a Term, covering the leave of the substantive Director.

For English and Literature Extension

After completing my Masters, I returned to Brisbane State High School to teach English and Humanities (History and Geography) across a range of year and ability levels. 2017 saw my teaching both year 7 and year 12 in subjects including History, Geography, English, and English Communication.

In 2016, I completed my Masters thesis on the intersection of contemporary concerns regarding female leadership with cultural perceptions of authenticity in selected historical dramas. I am thankful for the warm feedback given from multiple parties regarding its potential as grounding for future research.

I was a regular contributor to this online magazine, with articles regarding such diverse topics as geek culture, female leadership on television, and role modelling.

I was responsible for the learning and care of five English and History classes from years 8 through 10. This was a short term contract, terminated at my commencement of a full time Masters degree.

My role was to assist in the construction of the Centre for the Government of Queensland's 'Queensland Speaks' project, which comprised of researching and creating profiles and questions for various state officials and important personages. This research was then used in interviews, which I then transcribed. As part of the internship, I also wrote a short article regarding the political underpinnings of the lead up to Brisbane's Expo '88.
