In this new chapter of my career, I am leading Immersive STEAM, an organization dedicated to promoting rigorous Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics (STEAM) experiences for students. My emphasis is computer science, robotics, engineering, and makerspaces. Immersive STEAM is developing a web-app called Learning Logger which provides a tool for teachers and students to reflect on their thinking about their thinking (Metacognition). I advocate for CS4ALL because it helps students think, prepares them for any career in a technological world, and promotes a growth mindset. I also am engaged in philanthropy to increase the quantity, quality, and diversity of the STEM pipeline. In conjunction with the Maryland chapter of Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), I am the project lead for a project called Spark Passion for Computer Science which encourages schools in Maryland to conduct Family Code Nights. I also am a Professional Developer for Code.org.
