Product Marketing Manager for the HP Enterprise Virtual Array midrange enterprise storage array, the bedrock for more than a billion dollars in annual revenue. Drove product definition within cross functional and management teams to meet market requirements. Managed product marketing for multiple products including core shipping arrays as well as next generation product definition, design, competitive analysis, forecasting and product introductions.● Championed strategy to create the EVA4100/6100/8100 product family as a mid-life update out of two required component updates ( originally planned as an ECO); the product bridged a two year window until the next EVA technology update ● Conceived and led certification efforts behind IBM and NetApp virtualization offerings which generated EVA orders over $10 million ● Drove competitive price analyses, positioning and EVA pricing decisions to control discounting and increase margin and revenue (this resulted in 5% gross margin improvement) ● Developed new SAN array documents and sales collateral for major product introduction (market requirement documents, technical product specifications, web content for HP.com, 3D and virtual product tours) including industry experts product analysis white papers, sales battlecards, best practice documents, application white papers and collateral for Exchange, Oracle and SAP● Analyzed competitive offerings (iSCSI, FCoE, caching, performance, Solid State Disks, tiered storage, RAID levels, deduplication and quality of service) using internal and external competitive analyses (Gartner, IDC, Forrester, Edison and Ideas International) to determine market and product requirements. Analyzed IDC’s mid-range storage market forecast and combined with internal forecast and historical data to develop revenue forecasts for $1.2 billion product family refresh● Managed NPI roadmap and EOLtrigger points to control ramp and inventory; minimizing scrap to less than $10,000
