Developed the Safety Program to bring the business into CalOSHA compliance by working with staff and Senior Management across all functional groups.

Strategic Collaborations: Engaged in company portfolio analysis to optimize synergies with collaborators, including: licensees, government and academic partners, private and public industries. With Executive Staff, developed strategic approaches for achieving financial milestones. Devised goals and objectives and identified a range of strategies to achieve the company success. Operations: Responsibility for business wide operations across four states. Accountable for Finance and HR that were instrumental for creating an empowered, goal-driven, team-oriented staff. Developed and implemented Environmental Safety and Health program (IIPP) for five sites in four states (CA, WA, ID, AZ). Achieved CalOSHA’s Golden Gate recognition within seven years of startup. Assumed responsibility and improved the performance for Information Technology, Plant Growth Operations, Systems and Quality, Facilities, Procurement, and Asset Management teams. Directed leasehold improvement projects in multiple states, which included build-outs, reconfigurations, upgrades, consolidations, and close-outs with Environmental Assessments. Laboratory design for research processes encompassing regulated GM crops including regulatory compliance, BQMS, and biosafety. Developed and implemented Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.Project Management: Managed Arcadia’s three United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awards worth over $16M in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Mexico. Assumed project management duties for two At-Risk Projects to institute Project Recovery Processes. Managed USAID awards that resulted in an increased Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement (NICRA) rate from 52.5% to 107%, thus potentially increasing revenue for future awards.

Operations Lead for four high throughput genotyping laboratories for avian, canine, bovine, andporcine diagnostics. Pioneered new testing techniques for avian species, adding value to conservation efforts for wild and zoo bird populations. Led a Technical team that processed samples and submitted DNA testing results using Chain-of-Custody for court cases involving animals. Developed and managed the Operating and Capital budgets. Lead and directed the Finance Team, Human Resources, Information Technology, Research and development, Production, and Customer Support staff in the designed and implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) program. Directed Environmental Health and Safety program for California and Utah sites. Member of Celera/PE Worldwide Environmental Working Group focused on developing safety standards for facilities globally. Operations Lead for transfer from PE (ABI) to Celera. Operations lead for the closeout of the Utah lab, consolidating the operations into the Davis.

Led Operations and Technical teams in a high through-put lab using novel DNA diagnosticstechniques for avian and canine. Identified and implemented process improvements to increasethroughput and profitability. Expanded the high through-put diagnostic services to include bovine, porcine. Developed and managed the Operating and Capital budgets. Lead lab operations through PE acquisition of Zoogen.
