I design and write computer software systems. They used to be mainframe, cobol, cics, assembler, and of course jcl. Now they are Internet systems - Perl, PHP, html, xhtml, xml, css, ajax, javascript. I am well experienced in using relational database and vsam file structures, as well as sequential files. I design databases for large systems, as well as write code and lead projects.My last big project, which went live in May 2023, is changing our Business Owners policy system from Cobol rating to a cloud-based rating service.. Our R&D people built the rating module with purchased rating software; our I.S. department wrote the interfaces and replacement code to replace our old COBOL stored procedure rating.Current big project is moving our Commercial Auto ISO rating to the same cloud-based rating service as Business Owners.
