Key responsibilities:- Led all aspects of financial management and reporting of the Canadian businesses of Sun Life, including driving profitability and ROE, optimizing asset and liability management, strategic and business planning, and expense management- Key member of the Canadian executive team, driving the performance of a business that generated 2017 net income of $963 million, premiums of $3.2 billion, return on equity of 9% and assets under management of $176 billion, $85 billion of which is the General Account- Led a team of over 400 finance and actuarial professionals, working in a highly matrixed environmentKey accomplishments:- Achieved above expectations growth in the Canadian business, with underlying income growth of 9% and 7% in 2018 and 2017, respectively- Drove expense management initiatives, including a restructuring with savings of approximately $40 million, while balancing long term needs including innovation in the digital space- Implemented the new capital framework that resulted in a significant capital release- Created the vision for and initiated implementation of a financial operations team, focusing on streamlining foundational activities while maintaining strong processes and controls. This was undertaken to increase the capacity to be a business partner, driving value- Reduced time and production in multiple processes, including strategic planning (1000 hours saved, 40% reduction in documentation) and business planning (70% reduction in materials, significant time savings in two waves of business planning)

My most recent role was as a Partner in the Financial Services audit practice, where I worked with banks and insurance companies. Prior to Financial Services, I was in TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), where my clients included broadcasters and communications companies. I served as the national leader for Communications and Media and on KPMG's Board of Directors.
