Primary writer for publications with added emphasis on assisting editor in editing our award-winning magazine, Cultivate, the employee newsletter and other publications. Currently supervising our summer intern as we collaborate on beefing up the company's social media presence.

I write articles and take photos for our two membership magazines, Virginia Farm Bureau News and Cultivate. I also write for our employee newsletter and provide copy for promotional materials for Virginia Farm Bureau and affiliates. VFB purchased the State Fair of Virginia and The Meadow Event Park on which it's held in 2013. I served as co-lead on social media promotions for the fair in 2014 and will continued to do until the Meadow Event Park was fully staffed in 2016. I also worked as the promotions project manager for the Virginia Horse Festival, an MEP signature event, for the first couple years of its operation.

As an inside project manager for a small company that sold package room projects to military bases my responsibilities included scheduling projects, coordinating subcontractors’ work, scheduling deliveries to the jobsite, acting as liaison between subcontractors and customers, and following up on problems or issues that occur during and after the job. Responsibilities also included basic bookkeeping and accounting functions.Proficient in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

Main responsibilities included editing the company’s monthly membership newspaper. Conceptualized, wrote and assigned stories, took photos and worked with graphic designer on layout. Was also responsible for editing the quarterly employee newsletter, including writing, taking photos and designing the publication. This included training, motivating and managing 20 correspondents who wrote newsletter articles. Other responsibilities included assisting the communications director in organizing and executing media relations campaigns, writing press releases and writing speeches and editorials.
