As the Past-President of the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association for Family Mediation I'm proud of the work of the Board in promoting Family Mediation throughout the province. I am honoured to have worked closely with the Executive Director and all of our dedicated and hardworking board members to represent over 700 Accredited Family Mediators and Associate Members. As part of the Elder/Intergenerational Mediation Committee of the OAFM, I'm most excited about the opportunities to advance the recognition of Elder Mediation as an option for families in conflict or distress. I am certified as a presenter of the “It’s Not Right” program of Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario, and a member of the Peterborough Elder Abuse Prevention Network. I provide advocacy and education to give a voice to our fragile populations. I am a speaker, educator, advocate and consultant and have served on many not-for-profit boards and committees, including the Special Education Advisory Committee and the Accessibility Advisory Committee of the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board. I was a district council member of The Easter Seal Society and a coordinator of the local Easter Seals Telethon, and was a board member of Five Counties Children’s Centre Foundation, a children’s treatment centre in Peterborough.I founded Family Life Mediation to help families throughout the circle of life to manage conflict and find peaceful solutions to life’s challenges. I am an Accredited Family and Elder Mediator through the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. I have worked in Family Mediation for 15 years and have helped many families improve their cooperation and communication and assisted them to develop shared parenting plans for their children. Prior to creating Family Life Mediation, I managed Four Counties Family Court Mediation Service, a not-for-profit court connected family mediation agency, and I remain on their roster.I have training in intimate partner violence and screening for power imbalances. I have security clearance through the Ministry of the Attorney General and provide court connected mediation and information services to the Superior Courts of Justice in Peterborough, Lindsay and Cobourg.Call me today for a free phone consultation to see if mediation is right for you.
