Director Of Women In Engineering
CurrentWE@RIT is a Kate Gleason College of Engineering (KGCOE) initiative with the mission of recruiting, retaining, supporting and inspiring women engineering students to achieve their fullest potential as engineers and as leaders. WE@RIT engages students, collaborates and partners with faculty, related campus programs and industry partners to achieve its mission. WE@RIT ‘s main goal is to implement programmatic initiatives designed to increase the number of women in engineering majors, enhance their overall academic experience, and facilitate their entry into successful professional careers. This is accomplished through outreach, recruitment, and community building initiatives. These efforts are enhanced through collaboration with corporate partners, RIT’s Office of Admissions, Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education, Alumni Relations, area K-12 teachers and organizations, and other key organizations across campus, in the local community, and nationally. The WE@RIT Director is directly responsible for the strategy and operation of all Women in Engineering programs, fundraising, collaboration and project execution.• Manage the development and administration of all outreach, recruitment, and community building activities associated with WE@RIT. • Enhance and maintain an evaluation plan for WE@RIT offerings in order to understand and document program effectiveness and create program refinements based on assessment activities.• Cultivate and sustain a strong sense of community among women engineering students.• Build collaborative and supportive relationships across campus to assist in the success of WE@RIT programs and ensuring positive student experiences.• Manage budgets and monitor program expenditures.• Supervise WE@RIT employees, including the hiring, coordination and supervision of a large volunteer group in support of programs.
