Curriculum And Instruction - Arts Department

-Develop and manage budget, program evaluation, and department operations -Design and implement performance measures and program evaluation tools to track the impact of Arts resources on academic, school engagement, and school climate outcomes using an equity lens-Collaborate with community arts partners to develop a district-wide arts map-Align Arts resources to the goals of the Arts Education Master Plan-Support the Arts Director with the development and articulation of the annual PEEF expenditure plan, annual performance data collection, and reporting to community stakeholders

Public Education Enrichment Fund

-Directed management and implementation of the voter approved $73 million annual PEEF budget allocated to enrichment, student/family, and academic support programs-Served as the district liaison to the Board of Education appointed Community Advisory Committee for PEEF, and facilitate its work in reviewing PEEF program information and developing recommendations for the Superintendent and Board of Education. -Engaged with community stakeholders, educational organizations, press, elected officials, and the general public to educate about PEEF and its impact on students and schools.-Facilitated cross-departmental collaboration of district leadership teams in the strategic planning and budgeting of PEEF in support of the district and Board of Education’s goals, key District objectives and the Our Children, Our Families (OCOF) Initiative.-Directed and led of PEEF program and finance teams for preparation and dissemination of the district’s annual PEEF budget, program outcomes, interim financial reports, and other related program information to the offices of elected officials in the City and County of San Francisco, including the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors, the Controller’s Office, and the OCOF Council.-Supervised and managed program evaluation activities including the collection of data relevant to the implementation and impact of the PEEF initiative, and the accurate and timely reporting of PEEF evaluation in alignment with legislation.-Supported all SFUSD departments receiving funding through the PEEF, including developing spending proposals, monitoring implementation, financial reporting, creating, monitoring, and reporting performance measures, and supporting staff in conducting PEEF evaluation activities.

Curriculum & Instruction

-Developed and launched district-wide physical education programs at elementary schools.-Engaged school communities including parents, teachers, staff, and principals to recruit schools to adopt the program.-Designed, coordinated, and led a professional development series for classroom teachers, physical education teachers, and principals.-Created survey tools to assess professional development efficacy. -Collaborated with the Human Resources Department to develop and implement recruitment and outreach strategies to identify candidates for physical education teaching positions. -Modeled lessons and coached physical education teachers and elementary classroom teachers in their instruction of the physical education curriculum.-Coordinated district-wide purchase and delivery of physical education instructional equipment and infrastructure materials.

Philadelphia Chapter Co-Founder and Co-Chair-Co-Founded and Co-Chaired Philadelphia chapter of national educational advocacy organization.-Cultivated relationships and developed alliances with Philadelphia politicians, community based organizations and education advocacy groups to address education issues.-Co-designed and co-launched the Ally Safe School Network to support LGBT students and to establish Gay Straight Alliances across all Philadelphia public high schools.-Wrote grants, developed and administered financial plans, and oversaw budget planning.-Planned and presented trainings, workshops, panels, video screenings, and forums on topics related to LGBT students and creating safer/more inclusive schools.-Designed press strategies, press releases and served as media contact.-Supervised all administrative aspects of 150 member organization.-Coordinated volunteer recruitment.-Planned and facilitated member and executive board meetings.
