I manage the payroll department which processes approximately $78 Million in payroll for 42 states and Canada. I also manage the benefits department that is responsible for $11 Million in multiple benefit plans for approximately 1,300 employees. I am also responsible for executive compensation, variable pay plans and salary banding structures for our organization. I have negotiated contracts with vendors for the organization as well as recommended significant changes to streamline processes and created audit reports for taxes. I managed the payroll department and the accounts payable department. I calculated the COLA adjustment as per the union contract. I also performed numerous analysis on labor costs and overtime dollars. I was able to recommend cost cutting measures for overtime during the holidays that saved the company $500,000. This was in a union environment.

I was responsible for entering employee benefits in the payroll system as well as new hire orientation. I also traveled and participated in company acquisitions. I helped to train other HR team members on processes and laws.

Overseeing processing of payroll and benefits administration as well as planning and management of benefit costs. As part of my job duties at Ashley I collaborated on a new payroll/HR program. I was also responsible for ensuring that all accruals and general ledger transfers for the payroll accounts were accurate and up to date. I also created journal entries to accurately split employee expenses between multiple locations. I also filed and completed all state and federal payroll tax filings.
