• Develop and manage programming for the Institute on Philanthropy (IOP). Established the curriculum for 4 certificate programs based on market needs and strategic analysis. Serve in the role of an executive director responsible for development of strategic, marketing, & business plans; hiring instructors, program development, budgeting, scheduling, event planning, etc. Advise IOP students with course selections to match nonprofit employer needs as well as community volunteers transitioning to nonprofit work. Topic areas: Fund Development, Nonprofit Marketing, Grant Writing, Planned Giving, & Financial Management for Nonprofits.• Lead small group coaching sessions.• Manage Advisory Board – development of roles and responsibilities, board succession planning, facilitation of meetings, solicitation of board advice in program planning.• Manage 40+ adjunct faculty, advisory board & 1 program assistant.• Negotiate strategic partnerships.• Manage special events including coordination of national speaker forums, breakfast workshops, certificate awards luncheon, and 1 ½ day board retreat for local nonprofits. • Tripled annual student enrollment, increased the number of individual course offerings from 9 in 2005 to 52 in 2009. Transitioned delivery method of classes from individual classes to intensive week-long programs beginning in 2009. Established the "work while you learn" strategy to differentiate the program from others in the national marketplace. Grew certificate alumni 500+ through Jan, 2019.• Spearheaded a community collaborative group that brought national speakers to Richmond (Dan Pallotta & Steve Zimmerman). The events came in under budget with 285 attendees. Funding was negotiated with multiple foundations and strategic partners. • Research interests, Nonprofit Sustainability, Capacity Building through the investment in talent , and the New Frontier of Philanthropy.
