Kathy Fields Lander received her Masters Degree in Family therapy in 1997 and currently is an active, licensed California therapist, specializing in women's issuers, caregiver support, adjustment issues, life transitions, solution oriented therapies, and is certified in EMDRKathy began her early career as an actress in feature films, stage and television. She co-starred in Richard Brooks’ “The Happy Ending” and Dalton Trumbo’s “Johnny Got his Gun”. Ms. Lander was the second woman to become a member of the cinematographer’s union, as a still photographer. She worked on more than 20 major films, such as “Towering Inferno”, “Man Who Would Be King”, “Bobby Deerfield”, “Robin and Marion”, working side by side with top producers, actors and directors. She shot the opening credits montage for “Looking For Mr. Goodbar” starring Diane Keaton and Richard Gere. She has been a producer in film and TV development and Associate Producer on “Certifiably Jonathan” starring Jonathan Winters, a documentary/mockumentaryKathy was trained as a fellow at the American Film Institute as one of two female directors In the late 70s. Lander has been a community advocate /activist for decades. She has initiated community search and rescue trainings with the LAFD. Awarded The SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) clean air award, she has been a “Green” activist since 1979, when she founded the first recycling center in Hollywood. She has been working for the past 15 years for Single Payer Healthcare in California, currently serving on the Board of Directors of California OneCare and is co-chairperson for the entertainment Strategy Task Force, educating and enlisting the entertainment industry to bring awareness to Californians. She has co-produced 90 PSAs for the campaign.She is currently working on "Women in Transition", a series of groups for community, empowerment and growth at different developmental stages. .Her new group will be for women 60+
