As General Manager I am responsible for the overall success and achievement of their store and all stated revenue, financial and employee development goals. This position partners with their Area and Regional Directors to develop specific store plans.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn partnership with the Area Director and Store Managers, identifies and sets goals and priorities for the success of the store including sales goals, elfa goals, average ticket and payroll goalsCollaborates in recruiting and hiring, working with Store Managers to identify needs, set hiring goals, plan for seasonal needs and balance the skills and experience needed in the storeLeads, coaches, trains and develops the staff by managing behavior, actions and performance through proper communication and follow-upActively engages with employees on the salesfloor through observation, conversation and coaching as well as modeling proper selling and visual sales techniques with customersWrites and conducts performance appraisals for direct reports and participates in full-time and part-time reviews when appropriateManages store payroll expense plan and partners with the Area Director to use payroll and labor effectivelyWorks with the scheduling system and Store Managers to create weekly and daily.

As the Store Manager I lead the overall store operation including responsibility for sales, credit, customer service, retention, human resources, profit and loss, inventory, expense management and store presentation. My responsibilities including providing leadership for the store in the following areas: Associate development, supervision of overall store operations to ensure execution to Kohl’s Best Practices, communication, analysis of business operations, expense management, and general management of the Store as the leader of the Store Management Team.
