Like most good things, my professional story began in a classroom.In 1988, I was a teacher in Austin, Texas. I struggled to find quality educational products to meet my students' needs. Out of necessity, I designed my own instructional books and games, using my knowledge of learning styles, curriculum design, and assessment. My goal was simply to prepare students for the academic challenges they would face and to do so in a nonthreatening, engaging way.The results exceeded my wildest expectations. After watching my students' phenomenal gains, I realized I had to share my materials with others. From my classroom, the use of these materials spread across the state and then throughout the country. Before long, I could no longer keep up with the demand for curriculum materials. So, I built a staff of fellow educators, artists, programmers, and others who possessed a driving passion for helping children learn. The result was KAMICO Instructional Media, Inc., today's industry leader in standards-based curriculum, data disaggregation, and standards-based assessment preparation.Since then, I have guided KAMICO as its president and CEO. My dedicated team supports over 350 print titles and digital products with over 25,000 unique high-quality field-tested items. Because of a consistent, driving focus and my talented associates, KAMICO has established a reputation for outstanding, integrated curriculum materials.My mission at KAMICO is to provide academic support, as well as moral support, to the most important and hardest-working influencers in America - our educators. Our children are worth nothing less than the absolute best.

  As president and CEO, I manage and oversee a large staff of writers, artists, programmers, editors, sales associates, production technicians, and office staff. I enjoy being involved with the daily functions of every aspect of the company, including writing, editing, and sales. I am always personally available to support customers contacting our office. I regularly connect with educators at sales conferences and trade shows throughout the nation to stay abreast of their needs and concerns.
