I enjoy helping families find the right home for their lifestyle, budget, schools and commutes. There are so many great neighborhoods, schools, parks and amenities in N. Virginia, and Arlington in particular, that it is exciting to show families these special places and help them buy a home.When selling homes, I like the challenge of getting a house ready for sale, and then showing off its best attributes to reach its fullest market potential. I take pride in my abilities to research the local housing market, crunch numbers on comparable sales and help clients price their homes to achieve maximum profit and minimum time on market. Our team outpaces the local competition on fewest days on market and selling at or above list price. When representing buyers, I take pride in extensive knowledge of the local market so I can help them prepare winning offers and navigate the home buyer process to a successful closing.I work with Re/Max agents Jeffrey and Alexandra Beall, a husband and wife team who are my business partners. The majority of our clients come through referrals of friends and satisfied clients. Our Re/Max office is in McLean but we specialize in North Arlington and the greater Northern Virginia/DC region. As a MindFarm consultant, I assisted the Center for Clean Air Policy with strategic fundraising planning, grant writing, and grant management for their work to advance domestic and international policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that cause global climate change. I eventually oversaw the development program at CCAP which required attention to detail, preparing budgets, juggling multiple projects, supervising staff, writing compelling grant proposals and reports, and winning grants and contracts that ranged from $50,000 to $4M each. I managed the development pipeline, cultivated new leads, and ensured that each grant was executed on time and according to the proposals.

For 8 years I enjoyed being a self-employed consultant, so I could work from home, have flexible hours and advance my passion for environmental work while raising young children. I worked with a number of nonprofit environmental organizations on fundraising strategy, grant writing and grant management, setting up and using databases for grant tracking, writing policy papers and grant proposals, creating and managing budgets. Expert attention to detail, grammar, editing, writing and strong communications and strategic analysis were required for success.

Ran a national coalition of over 1,000 nonprofit environmental groups working together to protect U.S. rivers, lakes, streams, beaches and wetlands from pollution and destruction via enforcement and passage of domestic laws and regulations. Key responsibilities including preparing budgets, fundraising, coordinating lobbying campaigns, hiring and supervising staff, overseeing report content, writing content on water related policy issues, executing advocacy campaigns, conference planning, and running monthly meetings to coordinate lobbying efforts.

I worked for several NGOs based in DC during the 4 year period between the end of my Peace Corps service and starting graduate school. Responsible for grant writing, setting up databases of environmental activists to help promote sound policies across a variety of environmental issues.

For 2+ years, I lived as the sole American in Yacine Lacke, a rural village in the Sahel desert region of Senegal, West Africa. I communicated in Pulaar and French, navigated my way around the countryside using public transportation, and lived without electricity or running water. My job was to be a liaison between villagers and government agencies to bring a literacy instructor to the village, form a youth group, and start a women's cooperative garden. It was an amazing adventure where I learned self sufficiency, diplomacy, and I developed a global perspective. I gained incredible self confidence which empowered me to take risks in my future careers, including walking away from a job with benefits to start a non-profit, choosing self employment over 9-5 jobs, and being responsible for raising my own salary and my staff's salaries for the past 27 years.
