I am a London based textile designer and I run KathKath Studios with Kathryn Pledger and also teach textile design, working in Community Arts and business start up for creatives. I am also a Jacquard weave specialist and I am inspired by fusion of craft skills and new technology, and by working collaboratively and experimentally. I have exhibited my work worldwide.I worked as a designer and project manager with Puff & Flock, an award winning collective of future focused textiles designers. As a collective we exhibited experimental and trendsetting work both nationally and internationally. We focused on developing new products in collaboration with companies such as Ercol and Toray, for which we won the University of London Creative Enterprise Awards for collaboration.Alongside my professional design practice I teach creative workshops and classes at all educational levels, from primary to post graduate. I have taught at Central Saint Martins and am a course leader at the Mary Ward Centre, London. My freelance work mainly involves community partnership projects with galleries, festivals and events and charities. I am an experienced project manager within the arts charity sector and have many years experience delivering high quality drop-in workshops in gallery and festival settings, linked to specific locations or themed events.
