I have just completed my 9th year as co-chair for the annual Sertoma Chili Cookoff held in Springfield, Mo. This event, now in it's 28th year, has grown considerably over the past 10 years in all areas: event participants, corporate sponsors, revenues, attendance, and volunteers. Some of the duties include securing the contract and working out details for the event venue, handling team registrations, assigning booth spaces, preparing team packets and working with the planning committee at regular meetings prior to the event.
