I have been working for Rochdale Connections Trust for over 10 years as the Chief Executive and during time time the charity has developed and grown (even though we had had some difficult times with the lack of funding). However we are now in a strong position and delivering a range of interventions that have a huge positive impact. Our work includes supporting children and young people who have experienced many difficulties ranging from family separation, domestic abuse, no confidence or self-esteem and social isolation. We also work with adults, many of whom are the parents of the children we work with and we deliver a range of interventions including courses on Parenting, Respectful relationships, the Freedom Programme for women who have experienced domestic abuse, Forever Freedom and we have a project called Haven especially for women who have had their children taken in to care. We work with men who want to understand more about their own behavior and how that affects their partners and children through the Male Freedom Programme (which runs over 3 days) and through a longer programme which can last up to 1 year.
