Focus is on developing Arizona Science Center’s (ASC) Foundation Relations to include more national level funders while managing a robust portfolio of local corporate and foundation awards as ASC education initiatives consistently grow year over year requiring more investment. The programs now reach over 60,000 children around the state through Science on Wheels and 100,000 who visit ASC through Focused Field Trips; 40,000 of whom are from Title I schools and can attend for free. ASC is a vital STEM resource to the schools, teachers and students throughout Arizona with 6,000 teachers receiving professional development training through the Freeport-McMoRan Center for Leadership Learning at ASC. Last year secured $1.3M from the Arizona Department of Education (ADOE) in support of Camp Innovation; a summer camp with activities throughout the state for free to all students. This year, secured $2.5M from ADOE in support of teacher professional development in teaching STEM courses. Additionally, we raise $3.4M in gifts from individuals, corporate and private foundations. Personally presented over 40 grants to private, corporate and Tribal Community Foundations as well as government agency funding opportunities.

Recognition: - Multi-Million Dollar Achievement Award 2019 - presented by the ASU Foundation - Multi-Million Dollar Achievement Award 2020 - presented by the ASU FoundationDuring my tenure at the Thunderbird School of Global Management • Arizona State University, I created apathway to engage global corporate alumni leaders through personalized New Founders portfolio proposals centered on the campaign for the global headquarters. Those appeals resulted in $14M pledged due to this strategy. I also authored the proposal for the $25M naming gift for the new building. During the re-imagining of Thunderbird, developed new grant narratives to major funders including the MacArthur 100 & Change opportunity dealing with food security, Conrad Hilton Foundation [global initiative with ASU, City of LA and Nairobi City County] regarding housing insecurity. Developed multiple new dialogues with a myriad of foundations I had previous connection to including Skoll, Packard, Omidyar Network, Hewlett, Keck, Annenberg, Carnegie, Luce, Mellon. Initiated new conversations with multiple local foundations including Piper Trust, Flinn, AZ Community Foundation regarding donor advised funds. Many of these necessitated collaboration with ASU Foundation to identify priorities across ASU. Additionally, advanced relationships with multiple corporate partners aligned with Executive Education including the lead proposal of $1.6M to the country of Oman for a Center for Executive Leadership Training.

Held senior position over four divisions: Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale Public Art and Scottsdale Learning & Innovation.Numerous accomplishments were achieved for this multi-arts organization. Increased contributed revenue by 13% in one year ending FY with $2.3M. Increased board giving three-fold with multiple major asks and underwriting opportunities. Increased individual giving by 90%, an area that had been stagnant for over 12 years. Secured largest grant in the history of the organization in the amount of $410K in support of technology and upgraded website. Created the ONE MEMBERSHIP to galvanize patrons in all arts areas with improved benefits; the result was an increase in renewals and new members. Redesigned special events, especially the annual gala, with net proceeds of $250,000. Launched the Legacy Society with 18 members in its inaugural year and activated a young professional’s group within the organization.

Developed programs that grew resources, activated young people, engaged Indigenous communities (this included taking the orchestra to the Native American Music Awards, initiating a strings program for Native American students, and presenting concerts featuring Native American performers), and presented superior arts programming to extended groups throughout Northern Arizona. Implemented numerous education opportunities and audience development initiatives that were grant funded and, through first-ever corporate underwriting for every concert, added student ticket pricing incentives.Created diverse and thrilling engagement experiences with internationally renowned artists including Olga Kern, Susan Graham, Nick Kendall, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Christopher Parkening, Ransom Wilson, Peter Nero, Twyla Tharp and Alvin Ailey II. Their engagements resulted in sold-out performances throughout three seasons. Served as the president of the Arizona Orchestra Association during this time creating collaborative messaging and partnerships with all orchestras in Arizona. Earned national recognition from Henry Fogel, then president of the League of American Orchestras, for innovative programming and audience development.
