Reporting to president of Biomedical Services, turned around a failed $300 million program of business and technology projects that enabled the largest blood supplier in the nation to continue saving lives every day. Delivered the transformational and business sustaining initiative that modernized the entire FDA regulated blood operation including replacement of systems and updated procedures for donor management, and blood collection, testing, manufacturing and distribution. Team size peaked at over 1,000 resources including international and domestic vendor partners and remote employees across the US committed to the mission. Established program office of project standards, controls, organizational change management, training, communications, business and technical architecture, and finance. Advanced project delivery capability throughout the organization.

Reporting to the CIO, established Program Management Office (PgMO) and delivered $200 million cross-functional SunTrust Enterprise Risk Program (SERP) that combined the bank’s strategic enterprise risk and Basel II regulatory initiatives. Staff size peaked at 250 onshore and offshore resources and vendor partners. Set strategy, established and managed technical architecture, business architecture, change management, training, communications and financial management program functions. Delivered systems and business process solutions across multiple corporate functions. Implemented data warehouse that enabled business to make informed decisions in response to 2008/2009 credit crisis. Additional solutions supported decision making on management of credit and operational risk and determination of adequate capital reserves. The Federal Reserve examiners recognized SERP as a “well-managed program,” a rare honor. Piloted the offshoring of project delivery and was a member of leadership team that downsized IT as part of a transformative outsourcing initiative.

Partnered with marketing, creative, and merchandising leadership to advance homedepot.com as part of a new call/click/visit distribution model and increased digital revenue by 150%. Rebuilt fractured relationship between IT organization and e-commerce business unit executives. Launched first Home Depot Canada bilingual web site. Exceeded 99.4% availability target on all web sites, consistently at 99.9%. Retained staff during difficult transition period when founders exited the company and new executives introduced leadership and cultural changes.

Led staff of 42 and an $8 million budget in DotsConnect, a start-up owned by TSYS. Scope included development, support, and customer implementations for web-based credit card management solution. Retooled technology team and delivered fully redesigned core product platform and product line on aggressive six-month schedule on time and budget. Drove change to repair the engagement model between product management, sales, and technology teams to create a true partnership and an effective cost model for pricing bids. Introduced a release schedule and worked with product management to define feature sets while considering demand, resource capacity, competitive pressure, costs, and opportunity loss. Leader in elevating this start-up into a more mature, viable solution provider.

With a staff of 60, accelerated response to the unprecedented rapidly growing demand. Created a delivery capability based on sound project management practices and repeatable processes in this start-up office. Represented marchFIRST’s software development capability during the client pursuit process and developed estimates for RFP responses. Improved engagement model for business development activities. Matured Software Solutions organization to become partner with creative and strategy teams. Part of leadership team that merged Atlanta offices of USWeb/CKS and Whittman-Hart to become marchFIRST and was selected as Director for the newly structured marchFIRST Software Solutions organization.
