• Discovery Games UK •Looking back to my early days, I see an only child with a vividly creative imagination and inherited love of puzzles constantly making up games for her friends to play. Fast forward forty years: in 2010, having left behind my London commute and the world of corporate IT, I was lucky enough to find myself embarking on a completely different adventure. Over the course of 14 years I've been immersed in a stimulating and fun career, writing treasure hunt trails and games and running team building events for a huge variety of clients.As of 2024, my main focus is consulting on private commissioned trails and games, for business teams, parties, festivals, marketing and learning. 2025 looks set to take me in a slightly different direction, with brand new ideas to develop and launch.• The 1805 Club and The Trafalgar Way •In 2018 I took on an additional role as the Director of The Trafalgar Way, thanks to some charitable funding becoming available to the international naval history charity The 1805 Club. Over four years I led several initiatives to promote the fasinating story of the Trafalgar messenger, Lapenotiere, and his epic journey to London bearing the offical news of victory at Trafalgar and the death of Lord Nelson. I remain a Director of the 1805 Club Trading Company Ltd, running the shop and commercial aspects of the charity which works to commemorate and celebrate the maritime world of the 18th and 19th century Georgian era, the great Age of Sail.• On a personal note •I'm a member of the international parkrun community and have the distinction of being the inventor of the 'cow-cowl', the garment which enables avid parkrun tourists to spot each other on their travels. Since 2015, over £12,000 has been raised for parkrun, sports and mental health charities from the sale of these items. I also enjoy trail running and half marathons, sometimes travelling abroad with family and friends to do them.I'm always keen to be learning and particularly love language. As well as degree-level French, I am currently re-learning Spanish and for the past year have also been studying modern Greek.My most time-consuming hobby these days is treasure-hunting of a different sort: family history research using Ancestry and other tools. Those knotty little mysteries from the past intrigue and fascinate me - it's like an enormous, complex jigsaw.
