Customer Relations/Graphic Artist
My main responsibilities included assisting customers on the phone and at the counter while also handling outside sales in all aspects of the customers printing needs. As well as handling the orders of the customers, I also handled a fair amount of the graphic art/typesetting for many of the jobs we took in as well as printing on the digital presses and some bindery work.
Customer Service
My responsibilities included taking calls from customers (mainly self-publishers), interacting with potential customers, answering billing inquires and selling Gasch’s products over the phone (and occasionally in person). Was also responsible for inputting the data for the product into the system (FileMaker) and following the job(s) throughout the entire process. Also handled obtaining billing information and securing payment. It was also my responsibility to handle some in-house sales as well as assisting our outside sales rep. This included not only helping to sell the initial product, but also to sell other complementary products as well. This usually involved in educating the customers in whatever other products they needed, in addition to assisting them with how to submit files in the correct format, depending on the specific print job.
Service Coordinator
My duties include being the main point of contact for faculty, staff and Midshipmen (students) at the United States Naval Academy for a variety of audio/visual needs. Responsible for entering in instructions and/or work orders for production shoots, duplications as well as renting out various still/video cameras and other equipment as needed. Also responsible for maintaining various Access databases in order to report to the government. Also required to assist the Graphics lab/department as needed where the faculty, staff and Midshipmen utilize various desktop computers/software up to and including posters, signage as well as other various color reproduction needs.
Sales Representative
My duties included calling on existing and new customers to get bids/printing work for the company. In addition to this, I was my own customer service representative and handled the incoming jobs as they traveled through the plant. This included getting the jobs estimated, writing up the orders in the system and making sure that all papers, ink and materials were all available for the jobs. The balance of my duties were basically the same as my previous jobs in the customer service field, with the added responsibility of selling the work as well.
Team Leader/Customer Service Specialist
As a team leader, my primary responsibilities included the entry and tracking of jobs going through all processes of the production area for the South team (includes Virginia, DC, all points South from there and some in the Midwest). Responsibilities were also mostly duplicated from my position at Port City Press, but Bindagraphics is a bindery and finishing company and not a printing facility. In addition to have maintained a busy workload and dealing with internal and external customers, I was also responsible for billing each job as well as troubleshooting other areas of production. My position also entailed more selling than other positions I’ve held, although most selling is done as inside sales and very little outside selling or cold calling.I was also required to be intimately knowledgeable about all of the areas of the bindery in order to better help the customers find the best solution for their binding project.
Account Manager
As an Account Manager, my primary responsibilities were with assisting the customers (both internal and external), as well as doing initial order entry, filling out electronic job jackets and writing instructions for the plant. Very proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to multi-task and take a job from beginning to end in a fast-paced, timeline driven environment. Also required to learn new processes in an ever-changing environment and able to keep up with technology with a very positive attitude. Also assisted customers with alternatives to specifications as required during the entire manufacturing process. Was responsible for initiating/writing purchase orders, routings, have good verbal/written skills, is a team player, at times have to organize pre-productions meetings, have attended/formed/initiated various process improvement teams, handle/enter scheduling of new work, develop and maintain various internal and external forms. As a Color Process Case Manager, my chief responsibilities included preflighting (electronic and conventional) work/files and writing manufacturing instructions for all multi-color work for the sheetfed presses. Maintained a busy production schedule and oversaw all aspects of these jobs. Foresee brokered jobs and items needing to go to service bureaus, which included writing purchase orders.
